UVA Men’s Golf Rallies to Place Sixth at Georgia Collegiate
The Virginia Cavaliers men’s golf team played a brilliant four-hole streak to finish the final round and place sixth at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate this weekend.
As a team, the Hoos shot -10 on the last four holes of the three-round tournament. Virginia was tied for sixth with Georgia Tech with a 292-eight-under-par team. AVU placed sixth out of 15 competing schools.
Second-year student George Duangmanee and junior Pietro Bovari finished tied for ninth in the overall individual standings at -7.
Duangmanee shot a 69-under-three in the second round and a 67-under-five in the final round, including a -4 stretch of two birdies and an eagle on the last four holes of the final round to enter the top 10,
Bovari shot under par on all three rounds, including -3 on both rounds two and three.
Sophomore Chris Fosdick was also below average for the tournament at -1 and finished tied for 29th in the individual standings.
Virginia will attend her final event of the fall season at the Daniel Island Invitational in Charleston, SC on October 31 and November 1.
