South Suburban College to Offer Summer Graphic Design Session for High School and High School Students – The Southland Journal

South Suburban College will be offering a summer graphic design session for high school juniors and seniors (South Holland, IL) – The art and design department of South Suburban College (SSC) invites students, who will be entering their first or second year of high school in the fall of 2022, to inquire about the graphic design program this summer. This hands-on opportunity will take place June 6-16, 2022 between 9-11:45 a.m. Monday-Thursday on the South Holland campus in room 4431.
Attendees will have the opportunity to work directly with Pamela Planera, who is not only SSC’s Graphic Design and Visual Communications Coordinator, but also a professional graphic designer and photographer. She will share details learned over her many years of experience in this exciting field while focusing on design elements incorporating professional software tools from Adobe such as Illustrator and Photoshop. A variety of topics will be covered, from printing to animation.
Planera remarked, “If you’re passionate about art and design, South Suburban College’s degree programs can teach you the skills to keep it at the center of your universe. During the Graphic Design Summer Session, students will be able to build a hands-on experience that combines traditional fine art with today’s digital tools and techniques. Students will explore their creativity in a graphic design career path.
Registration fee for the session $99
The registration fee for this non-credit session, called Graphic Design I, is $99. This opportunity is limited to 20 students. The deadline to apply for this summer session is June 2, 2022 or until full capacity is reached.
