Samsung gives its previous foldable phones and smartwatches new features
Starting Sunday, September 4, Samsung began rolling out new features to its older foldable phones and smartwatches, all thanks to the latest version of its One UI.
According to The Verge, older Samsung products can receive significant upgrades, such as adding a desktop-like taskbar to its phones and more customization choices for its wearables.
On Sunday, the South Korean company sent out the all-new Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 UI for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones. But, it debuted on Galaxy Z first. Fold 4 and Z Flip 4.
When an app is open, Android 12L enhances Z Fold 4 with a stable taskbar that makes it easier to access other apps similar to those available on a desktop computer, Phone Arena reported.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 both include a cover screen that can be used to adjust settings, voicemail, and call interactions. Users can also take face-to-face selfies with its Rear Cam Selfie feature.
Soon the Galaxy Watch 4 will receive Wear OS 3.5 and One UI Watch 4.5, bringing additional features and improvements. The new “favorites” feature in smartwatches makes it easier to organize faces, and users can change the colors and patterns of their watch faces to make them stand out.
With the new interface, users can now adjust the color and contrast of the screen to make it easier to see, reduce transparency, turn off blur effects, and completely eliminate motion to avoid ambiguity. Additionally, a Bluetooth device’s audio channels can be changed, and accessibility options include slowing the screen’s responsiveness to taps and avoiding repeated taps.
These factors all clearly imply that Samsung has streamlined the functionality of its smartwatches.
