Pokémon TCG Reveals 2022 Artwork Contest Entries: Cramorant
|
Get ready for a new series here at Bleeding Cool that will show off some of the best Pokémon TCG work of art you have ever seen. There is, however, an interesting twist. These illustrations are actually not forthcoming Pokémon TCG expansion like our other preview series. In fact, most of them will never become cards. What you see in this series is a collection of the annual Pokémon TCG The artwork contest submissions that have now been made public. Here are my personal picks from the top 300 submissions selected by TPCI. Today, let’s take a look at the Cramorant cards included in this bundle.
April Borchelt submitted a Cramorant very eager to fish from the Arrokuda. There’s something hilarious like a dog about the way Cramorant introduces us to the fishing rod.
The Cramorant depicted in Austin PettitThe hilarious submission shows the Pokémon taking a much more direct approach as it dives with its mouth open through a swarm of Arrokuda and Luvdisc.
I love how these two take wildly different approaches, with April’s painting and realism and Austin’s cartooning.
bubo plague and Jairo Contreras both offer incredible painterly takes. Each one of them is absolutely stunning, and I can’t help but try to imagine them rendered as alt art vs. They would be among my favorites ever in print.
Again, we get very different takes from Miranda Jacoby and Noctemeboth upholding the theme that this is a very Food-obsessed Pokemon. My favorite here is the outraged Espurr who takes care of the bread-stealing Cramorant.
Sicong Sui and Kanami Ogata take different approaches too, with the first looking like a portrait you’d see hanging in a sea captain’s cabin and the other offering a bright and cute look at Cramorant stealing from a kitchen prep table.
Stay tuned for the continued journey through these amazing submissions at Pokémon TCG 2022 Illustration Contest. For more illustrations, you can view the entire collection here.
