OKC Thunder Guard Jumper Lu Dort continues to improve
Since his rookie season when Lu Dort was known to be just a defensive player, he constantly improved his attacking game. Now that he’s becoming a more complete and efficient player on both ends of the pitch, his 3-point shot is one of the things he’s improved the most on.
As a rookie, Dort shot just 29.7% from 2.8 attempts per game. From there, he saw a huge increase in production in Year 2, reversing 34.3% of his 6.3 attempts per contest.
He even hit a whopping 3 wins last season against the San Antonio Spurs.
In the pre-season, Dort took another step forward. In three preseason games he went from 10 to 16 of 3, converting 62.5% of his attempts from beyond the arc.
He was the most consistent 3-point shooter of the entire roster, showing flashes of being potentially the team’s best shooter this season.
Dort has come a long way since his rookie season as he enters his third year, constantly improving in every facet of his game. As for 3-point shooting in particular, how far he has come is awesome.
Ready to land a new contract in the near future, Dort continues to prove that he deserves a significant extension. If his 3-point shot is durable and he’s able to shoot above 40% from depth this season, it’s safe to say his next contract will be one of the most lucrative on the Thunder.
