Obituary: Anne A. St. Pierre

Anne A. Saint-Pierre
LEWISTON – Anne A. St. Pierre 79, of Garcelon Street, Lewiston, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Central Maine Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born in Portland on June 12, 1942, daughter of the late Rosario and Antoinette (Gaudet) Demers. She was educated at local schools and graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1961, Auburn. About a decade later, Anne received her associate’s degree in graphic design at CMVTI, Auburn. Anne married her true love, Leo R. St. Pierre, on March 3, 1962, at St. Louis Church, Auburn, on a cold, sunny day after a major snowstorm hit the area. It was an eventful weekend that Ann has talked about her whole life. Anne worked for many years as a waitress at several local restaurants before moving to her chosen field of graphic design at Penmor Printers (lithographers) and Hood’s Mailing and Printing, both in Lewiston. Anne has also been very active in Prince of Peace Parish, as cantor, reader and choir member, for Masses in French and English. She also volunteered at St. Martin de Porres for many years. Anne had a big heart. She was “mom” to many and her house was open to everyone. She loved to sing and was known for her wonderful voice. Her love of music and the arts was a trait she passed on and shared with her children. She was a talented, creative and energetic person who did a great job with her hands, another trait she passed on. She enjoyed gardening, painting, cooking and decorating for the holidays. She took the whole family on camping trips that are remembered on a budget. And Anne could fix just about anything, from large appliances to televisions to automobiles. Anne is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Leo R. St. Pierre; her six children and their spouses; five grandchildren and their spouses; six great-grandchildren; six siblings and their spouses; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother. Online condolences can be shared at http: // www. thefortingrouplewiston.com. Visits to Fortin, Lewiston, Thursday September 30 from 9 am to 11 am, followed by a Christian funeral mass at 11 am at Ss. Peter and Paul Basilica. Interment will take place at a later date. The family also asks everyone to kindly share a random act of kindness in their memory. Arrangements are made by The Fortin Group Funeral Homes, 70 Horton St., Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St Martin de Porres, PO Box 7227, Lewiston, ME 04240 or to a charity of their choice.
