Google Updates Search Results UI To Better Display Maps and Other Location Results / Digital Information World
Google is updating its search results interface to display the map differently, emulating a local pack design that is better suited for desktops, SEL reports.
Google’s affinity for coming up with newer and newer ways to manipulate the Maps interface, or at least something adjacent to it, honestly has no limits. I would list a few highlights, but honestly, if you can’t find an interface update right now, just wait a minute or two. That’s not to say that the updates are all bad. In fact, constant updates have kept the UI to remain relevant and consistently useful, although most updates are just simple tweaks to the UI itself or an update. earlier which requires precise adjustment.
The search engine itself also continues to receive an endless list of updates, as Google continues to invest in making sure that one of its most used products of all time is always up to date and fresh. the users. It was only recently that the research had dozens of dozens of monuments rendered in 3D and added to its results. In this way, users can explore a fully rotating version of structures of historical significance such as the Eiffel Tower or the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Before that, there was a series of animals that had very well rendered 3D models added to the results, roars, animations and everything. At this point, ex-Google Poly employees are wondering why their time and effort wasn’t spent here instead of getting the boot. Then again, someone has to keep filling up the Google Graveyard every few months or so or everyone gets suspicious.
There’s nothing particularly special about the new search interface change, and it only acts in the interest of providing a slightly better visual guide for users. Searching for a particular location will now display maps on the right side of the screen, with the relevant locations appearing right next to it on the left of the screen. This apparent combination is called a local pack, and it allows small business owners and others to showcase their stores much higher in search results. In this way, many people who gain a large portion of their audience and traffic through Google, ads and so on, are more likely to gain more customers. It’s also a screen that fits the larger screen that a desktop or laptop computer typically carries.
