GG’s Children’s Boutique plans to open a new store in downtown Thibodaux

A Houma-based children’s boutique is set to open a new location in downtown Thibodaux this summer.

GG’s Children’s Boutique, opened in September 2020 at 1437 St. Charles St., Suite 113, Houma. Its second store will open in July at 515 West 2nd St. in Thibodaux.

The company is owned by Houma native Kristen Floyd, who also holds a degree in graphic design from Nicholls State University, and her husband, Ben Floyd. The store is named after their daughter, Georgia Grace, who will be 3 years old in April.

The store offers a variety of brands of children’s clothing, including The Beaufort Bonnett Company, Little English, James & Lottie, Feltman Brothers and Lullaby Set.

Floyd said she saw the need to open a children’s boutique in Houma that carries brands and styles she couldn’t find locally.

“I used to travel almost every weekend out of town to buy these items, and, you know, I once joked to my husband, ‘We should open one in Houma,'” he said. she declared. “He has a very, just, go for it attitude, which is great and allows me to follow my dreams.”

She describes her store’s clothing styles as classic, traditional and “sweet southern”.

The shop also offers stork rentals, which are yard ornaments for baby announcements, as well as gifts and gift baskets to buy for new parents and to help welcome a new baby home.

“That’s one of my favorite things, it’s the relationships I’ve formed with my clients. They’ve almost become like friends and family. It’s so nice to help a family welcome a new baby home,” she said.
