Epic Games have made a lot of changes to Fortnite as Season 8 Chapter 2 has developed. However, one slight feature seems to be worse, as players of all skill levels complain about the difficulty of the UI.
Navigating the menu proves to be a challenge for those who have been browsing Fortnite matches for years. Apparently, trying to load into a queue takes a lot of exploration and awareness to select the right option.
Fortnite streamer xQc reveals dislike of Season 8’s new UI system
xQc is a fairly popular Fortnite fan due to their streams and success as a player. A video leaked by data miner Hypex showcased the streamer’s issues with the user interface in Fortnite Season 8.
The new discovery menu is not good. It’s too grouped, and horizontal scrolling just isn’t. I understand this is new and Epic is collecting opinions, I just hope it improves quickly. Here is even the opinion of xqc as someone who plays the game occasionally:

It looks like xQc speaks for all veteran gamers in saying that Fortnite is trying to simplify the UI menu, but in a way that makes it more complicated. Fortnite veterans are used to such a specific menu that introducing even the slightest change leads to grievances and UI issues.
The added queue types and scrolling feature make the match search process a nightmare. While this may sound pretty according to many Fortnite fans, it’s by no means easy to use.
