December 26, 1930: The Alabama football team was the guest of former player Johnny Mack Brown at MGM studios where Brown and Wallace Beery starred in a gangster movie. Players erupted into laughter as the former Alabama star escorted one of the gangster’s girlfriends onto the stage, and some were heard saying, “He’s paid for s. ‘have so much fun. ” After the studio tour, Wallace Wade took his team to Occidental Field for a scrimmage ahead of the upcoming Rose Bowl game against Washington State. – Bryant Museum
