Better, Brighter, Bigger – The New Indian Express
KOCHI: After showcasing the Apple Watch Series 7 alongside the launch of four iPhone 13 devices last month, the company showed off its new smartwatch in stores on October 15. Like the other new versions, Apple has not added any revolutionary changes to its watches.
The Series 7 is a slightly improved version of the previous model, made bigger and brighter. The new series has a 20% larger screen. Besides minor changes, Seven comes with special features that increase usability. The user interface (UI) on the larger screen is slightly larger – more text, bigger buttons, map navigation, etc. are now very practical.
Apple Watch has always had curved edges. This time, they’ve pushed the screen to the edges, making the text readable even when viewed from the sides or corners. Displaying a larger screen, the Series 7 has been incorporated with two watch faces – Contour and Modular Duo. In Contour, the custom clock hour digits are all wrapped around the edges, while the modular mod is packed with data-rich compilations like fitness track, time, and more.
Apple also introduced a full QWERTY swipe keyboard for the watch. Since the user interface is large enough, if there are any errors in the text, it is quite difficult to go back and replace the desired words. The Series 7 can be categorized as the most durable Apple Watch ever. The thick cover glass makes it resistant to cracking. This time, in addition to being water resistant, Apple is also IP6X dust resistant. This is the first time that Apple has tested its watch for dust resistance.
The larger screen is complemented by a brighter screen – 70% brighter than the previous model. Even in the dark, it offers better visibility. The Series 7 charges 33% faster and comes with a USBC charger that is labeled with a washer. Apple has introduced five new aluminum colors for the new series.
